Im finsteren Wald
Wenn man berücksichtigt, daß die Wälder Europas früher noch wilder und dichter waren, braucht man sich über Sagen, die von allen möglichen Kreaturen berichten, nicht zu wundern. Auch heute kann ein moderner Wald in der Nähe einer Großstadt noch unheimlich wirken.
One doesn’t have to wonder where the old fables about all sorts of creatures, hiding in the woods, come from, when one considers how much thicker and wilder the forests of Europe used to be. Even today, a modern forest close to a major city, can still appear a little bit sinister.
